NCC November Release Look back

I used the Nutcracker for my card. So I have a confession to make… I can’t stand Nutcrackers! Don’t ask me why, I have no clue but they scare me. So working with this stamp was a challenge for me but in saying that, I LOVE how this card turned out!

I colored him with copics, using white gel pen on his teeth, coat and gloves. I also used NCC Sweet Christmas Wishes for my sentiment. Added a little dew drop bling at the top and a big three loop bow in the middle.

Christmas Tic-Tac-Toe

It’s challenge time again over on the CCEE Stampers blog. Our challenge hostess is Lyn McAultry.

For our challenge this week, Lynn has challenged us to
Create a Christmas card using the tic-tac-toe board below. Use all three items in any row: across, down, or diagonally. You may add additional items to your card if you like, but you must include the 3 in the row you have chosen.

I went with Snow, Embossing, Glitter.

I used Snow Angel Murphy from North Coast Creations for my card. Colored Murphy with copics and cut him out completely. Attached him with dimensions. Used some fun papers for the background and a scallop die for the checked paper.

As for my snow, embossing, glitter….. I embossed the snow with Iridescent ice embossing powder so it looks like glitter when embossed. Hard to tell in the picture but it looks like Murphy is making a glitter snow angel.

North Coast November Release

For my first card, Snow Angel Murphy, I colored him with copics and cut him out with circle spellbinder. Used a little white gel pen and here and there on the snow angel.


For the Nutcracker, again I colored him with copics and then added yellow stickles on his crown rim and jacket trim. Added some red brads to finish off the card.

Noel

Well it is time for another challenge over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week Maryann Einam continues as our challenge hostess for the month.

Maryann has asked us to create a card using photos, photo stamps etc.

Well I don’t have any photo stamps and my printer is out of ink so I can’t print any photos. What to do? I decided to share a Christmas card I made back in 1996! Since I have 4 kids, I decided to take a picture of them each holding a letter that would then spell out Noel.

Easy you say? Sure, if you didn’t have a 9 month old holding the letter L wanting to eat it! lol

Only took a handful of shots of her to get the one I used on the card!

Stamped snowflakes in the background and used matching ribbon and cardstock to finish off my card.

Looking back at Oct. NCC Release

Today we are taking a look back at North Coast Creations October Release. For more inspiration using the October Release be sure to visit the NCC Blog.

I made two cards for today using both sets that I have. Tommy Turkey and Snowman Family.

For Tommy Turkey, I colored him with copics. Layered his beak and hat 3 times and his face twice. (Forgot to take a side picture! duh!)



For Snowman Family, I embossed them in silver and cut it out completely. Adhered it to the vellum with pop dots.

North Coast Creations Release in October

Welcome to the North Coast Creations October release! This month features some really cute sets and I have two of them to show you today.



For my Snowman Family card, I colored the image with copics, used white gel pen for the balls on the ends of their hats and also on the tree as ‘snow’. Sprinkled some “snow” Flower Soft on and did a little faux stitching around the image.



Tommy Turkey is looking all proud colored with copics and cut out completely. White gel pen was used on his collar and a Spica pen on the buckle of his hat. He is also attached with dimensions.

Clean and simple Christmas

Time for a Paper Pretties challenge! This week's challenge is:
CLEAN AND SIMPLE!

Clean and Simple, huh? Sometimes I can do them and other times they don’t stay to clean and simple. But I have to say I am in love with my card and am thinking Christmas cards for this year! The only time consuming part is the complete cutout.

I used Tis the Season Sophia and colored her with copics. Used some sparkly pens for the ribbons and cut her out completely. Ran some vellum through the cuttlebug with a Christmas folder. Attached it with brads and attached Sophia with dimensionals.

North Coast Creations Sept Release

Happy Monday! I’m here today with some new releases from North Coast Creations! There are 3 fun sets being released this month but I’m only used the following two today. See end of post about how you could maybe win a $10 NCC Gift Certificate!




For my first card, I used Sweet Christmas Wishes. Colored it with copics, used white gel pen on the white parts and crystal effects on the candies for a shiny look. Added some Flower Soft around the base of the house for snow. Stamped sentiment on the hanging piece.




For my second card, I used Gnome What? Colored the gnome with copics and cut him out completely. Hard to tell from picture but his belt buckle and buckles on his shoes are colored using Spica glitter pen. Used the “I love you” sentiment and added some mushroom brads to the card.

Thomas Kinkade Christmas in July

It’s that time already….another Cornish Heritage Farms challenge. The challenge this week is Christmas in July using a Thomas Kinkade stamp!

I pulled out TK – Village Christmas stamp and went to work. Lightly colored it with copics and added some sparkles with glitter pen. Used white gel pen on the snow sections. Then distressed with distress inks.

CCEE–Oh Christmas Tree

I’m late, late, late for a very important date. Oh wait, wrong theme here. So this weeks challenge over at CCEE Stampers is the last one for the year so we can all take time for family during this holiday season.

So your challenge is:

I pulled out an oldie but favorite stamp set for my card…. Lovely As a Tree by Stampin’ UP! Stamped Joy to the World song as my background and embossed the tree over top of it. Sponged the sides and added a bow using the Craft-Dee BowZ maker to make it.

Looking Back at NCC November Release

Today we are taking a look back at North Coast Creations November Release!

For more inspiration using the November Release, be sure to visit the North Coast Creations Blog. 

So what happens when your dogs have no food? You decide to make doggie treats in the shape of snowmen, stockings, trees, stars and bones of course. Then you decide to make a container for the doggie treats. And hey, while I’m at it, I might as well make it fit for one of my design teams!

I used Santa Paws for my project. Colored it with copics and cut it out completely. Cuttlebugg’d the French Fry container with an ornament folder. Added a silver bow and attached the oval/dog with pop dots.



Taking a picture was challenging as I used my end table in front of my Christmas tree which is of course dog level! Just look at that face, how could you refuse those puppy eyes?



So I wasn’t sure if my above idea would work out how it so I had a plan B. Still using Santa Paws, I masked the branch to add some more greenery to it. Colored it and the dog with copics and cut them both out completely. This time I attached them to a see through box. Both ideas worked out perfectly and my dogs love the treats.

And for your doggie’s pleasure:

Pumpkin Dog Biscuits

2 eggs
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
2 tablespoons dry milk
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
2 1/2 cups brown rice flour * (I used unbleached flour instead)
1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)

Preheat oven to 350.

In large bowl, whisk together eggs and pumpkin to smooth. Stir in dry milk, sea salt, and dried parsley (if using, optional). Add brown rice flour gradually, combining with spatula or hands to form a stiff, dry dough. Turn out onto lightly floured surface (can use the brown rice flour) and if dough is still rough, briefly knead and press to combine.

Roll dough between 1/4 – 1/2″ – depending on your dog’s chew preferences, ask first – and use biscuit or other shape cutter to punch shapes, gathering and re-rolling scraps as you go. Place shapes on cookie sheet, no greasing or paper necessary. If desired, press fork pattern on biscuits before baking, a quick up-and-down movement with fork, lightly pressing down halfway through dough. Bake 20 minutes. Remove from oven and carefully turn biscuits over, then bake additional 20 minutes. Allow to cool completely on rack before feeding to dog.

* Brown rice flour gives the biscuits crunch and promotes better dog digestion.

Dec. Craft-Dee BowZ blog hop

Welcome to the last Craft-Dee BowZ blog hop of the year! Our theme is Christmas of course! Hope we inspire you to create something for Christmas. Hopefully you just came from Brenda’s blog, if not you will want to head to the start of the hop over at the Craft-Dee BowZ blog.

I went a completely different route with my project. It is a two in one project really as it can be used two different ways. I started out with a tag in mind using a stocking template. In the end I like the look of it as an ornament!

The top part of the stocking is actually velvet cardstock. Embossed glitter snowflakes (see second picture) on the stocking. Matched the toe and heel to the ribbon and added faux stitching with a white gel pen. Of course I used the Craft-Dee BowZ maker for the bow.



I made the picture dark so you could see the sparkly embossed snowflakes a little better.

Paper Pretties – Merry Christmas

Happy Hump Day! Can you believe we are half way through our first full week of December? Have you started decorating for Christmas? Started those Christmas cookies? What about those Christmas cards? Finished yet?  I haven’t finished my cards and that is where Paper Pretties challenge comes into play today! This week’s challenge is It’s beginning to Look a LOT like Christmas!

I used Snowy Snuggles for my card. Colored them with copics and cut them out using Spellbinder circle die. Used the Spellbinder scallop circle for layer and added silver gel pen dots. Using the Craft-Dee BowZ maker, I made a loopy bow using some misc. ribbon. Stamped sentiment below and I have one Christmas card done out of 20 million. (well okay, not that many but it sure feels like it when you leave till the last minute!)

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends. Hope you have a great and stuffed day with family and friends.

It is time again for another CCEE Stampers challenge. Cindy has a sketch for us this time.

I used Santa Paws by North Coast Creations. Colored him with copics and cut him out completely. Used a Gelly Roll pen on the bow for some added sparkle and a white gel pen on the ornament.

Glitter, glitter, glitter

Is this week over yet? Kids have been getting sick, babysitting kids have been getting sick.. it’s everywhere! I’m ready for it to be over!

But it is only Thursday which means it is time for another CCEE challenge. This week it is all about embossing and glitter.

I used the new set from North Coast Creations, Santa Claws. Colored the cat with copics and the rest of the image I used Stickles and Smooches. Besides embossing the image in black, I also embossed the background layer and then sanded the paper. Added some bling to the bottom to finish off the card.

Ribbon and Lace–CCEE 1345

So the challenge over at CCEE Stampers this week is to use ribbon and lace. Well I have a little problem, I couldn’t find any lace in all my ribbon! I knew what I wanted and couldn’t find it so we are going to pretend I have lace on my card as I really wanted to get a card up for the challenge and not be the slacker on the team.

I used Snowy Snuggles from Paper Pretties for my card. Colored with copics, added some silver stickles, some sliver liquid pearls for buttons and some Flower Soft for snow.

Used the Craft-Dee BowZ maker to make my double loop bow and added some snowflake brads. As for my lace…. the snowflake punched border looks “lacey” enough so I am calling that my lace.

Distress

Today is 9-11 and also time for another Paper Pretties challenge today… Distress. How fitting this challenge is for this day when so many were (and still are) in distress just 12 short years ago.

I’ve been seeing so many Christmas cards lately that I decided to make one for today’s challenge. Colored Snowy Snuggles with copics, added some Flower Soft to her cape and some to the ground for snow. Distressed the layers with ink and on the red did some distressing with the distressing tool.

Christmas/New Year inspired

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas yesterday! As you can see from the above picture, my kids were excited to get footie pjs (a tradition to get pjs on Christmas Eve in our house).

Well it is time for the last Paper Pretties challenge this year!  Hard to believe the end of the year is upon us! Quick side not, sorry I didn’t post about last week’s challenge. I have had someone sick every day since Friday before last and of course I was trying to work on Christmas presents and take care of sick people and make Christmas cards! So far I am the only one not to have gotten it (how, I don’t know!).

But back to the challenge… Happy New Year Inspired. I used Holiday Cheers I for my card. Colored with copics, added some cuttlebug background and pulled out some ribbon.

So I got a Canon Rebel t3i just in time for Christmas. Thought I’d share a few of my favorite shots I took during the Christmas time.

Time to go hanker down as we are under a blizzard warning that is to be starting during the night and going on throughout the day into early Thursday morning. I can’t wait as I love snow and we haven’t had enough.
