HappyHappyHappy Birthday

amberbordercopy

I am back with a card for CCEE Stampers challenge. This challenge is a good one as I have never done this technique before. Bordered Sentiment  You can find a tutorial of it here on Splitcoaststampers.

I used a flower image from JFF and a sentiment from a retired set by Our Craft Lounge. Colored the flowers with copics and layered it a few times.

These Boots

amberbrickcopy

If you are looking for the Craft-Dee BowZ blog hop post, please click here.

Time for another CCEE challenge and boy was this a challenge for me!  In fact I felt like I was hitting my head against a brick wall! Oh wait, that is the challenge!! Use the technique Brick Wall.

I used an image and sentiment from JFF for my card and design paper from Basic Grey.

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE blog for the rest of the design team members cards. Believe me, the girls did a better job than I did.

Masculine Birthday

AmberMasculine

It’s challenge time over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As it is a brand new month that means we have a new challenge hostess, Vicky Gould.

Today is Vicky’s son-in-law’s birthday, so she has challenge us to make a masculine birthday card! Use brown, tan and green.

I used Watches and Pens from JFF for my card. Stamped the watches and cut them out. Stamped a script for the background. Added some twine and a birthday sentiment. Did a little distressing to the background before adding the watches.

The beach

beachthemeajh

Today I’m bringing to you a project made using the Craft-Dee BowZ maker along with our theme for this month and some extra goodies from USArtQuest. Our theme this month was the colors blue and tan along with a beach theme. The goodies from USArtQuest included Mica Flakes, Prills, Dicrofibers and Perfect Paper Adhesive. Time to put on the thinking cap!

I decided to make a card as we have never been to the beach so no pictures for a scrapbook page. But I do have beach theme stamps! I pulled out a beach theme saying from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps. Using some burlap ribbon, I made my bow with the Craft-Dee BowZ maker as you can see the close up below.

beachthemebowajh

Time to pull out the "Cottage Garden" Dicofibers and have some fun. "These fine, luminescent fiber threads are both light reflective and light refractive. When pressed between parchment paper with a medium-hot iron they produce a brilliant, flexible fiber sheet that can be used like paper or fabric." (taken from the USArtQuest site)

I used two different colors, lilac and periwinkle, fusing them into fiber sheets. I then ran them through the cuttlebug using a flower die that cut three different sizes. Using the Perfect Paper Adhesive, I attached the Prills to the middle of each flower. Also used the PPA to attach my flowers.

beachthemeflowersajh

Look closely to the picture above... do you see the gold edging? That is the Mica Flakes. I again used the PPA to attach the flakes to the outer edge of my oval.

Now that you have seen all the snippets of the card..... are you ready to see the finished product? Here you go!  Look how well the Mica Flakes and the Dicofiber/Prill flowers set off the card.

Collage Birthday

Bryonscollageajhcopy

Ready for another CCEE challenge? This week Sabrina is asking us to use at least FOUR different stamps to create a collage. You can find tutorials here and here on Splitcoast Stampers.

Again another challenge for me this week as I have a hard time doing collage cards. Really, I do! I broke out some JFF images and went to work. After 20 million tries later, this is what I came up with.

Bryonscloseupajhcopy

Distressed all the layers with distress inks and added some brads in the corners. All in all this turned into a great masculine card so I was happy.

Time for the beach

AmbersBeachajhcopy

I was asked to join a fun little group called CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Every Thursday a new challenge is posted  and being a brand new month we have a new challenge hostess which is Sabrina Friel for the month of July.

Sabrina has challenged us to Let’s go to the beach.Sabrina grew up by the seaside and spent most summer days there – when it wasn’t raining. Bring your Independence Day picnic along if you want, just keep the sand out of the sandwiches.

I used Sunset at the Seashore from JFF for my card. Masked the water so I could stipple in the sunset. Added some white gel pen for the clouds. The water is also stippled in with some white gel pen for accents. For my “beach”, I used Kokomo Mudd Puddles sand. Only thing my card is missing is my feet in that sand!

Happy Father’s Day

AmbersFathersdaajhcopy

Time for another Crazy 4 Challenges. This weeks challenge is Father’s Day cards.

I stamped the lighthouse from JFF. Masked it and did some sponging to get a sunset (or sunrise) effect. Colored the lighthouse with copics. Stamped Happy Father’s Day on heavy clear cardstock and tore it. Added some brads to help hold it down.

AmbersFathersdaajhcopy

Would love to have you come along and play with us. Please link directly to your project and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C189.

Messy desk equals…

purplebowajhcopy

So the card I have to share with you today is not the one I was planning on. Why you ask? Well it turns out the cleaning stamp room fairy hasn’t been to visit in a while and therefore my desk is a mess. I was planning on using a certain die on my card but since the fairy never showed… I can’t find the die! So it was on to plan B.

I used an image from JFF and sentiment from Paper Pretties. Stamped the flowers first and the sentiment over top. Colored the flowers in with some sparkling H2O. Used a spellbinder die to cut the entire image out and sponged some green around the edge.

Pulled out a border punch for the side stripes and added some bling to the bottom. Of course I used the Craft-Dee BowZ maker for my bow.

purplebowajhcopy

Hopefully the cleaning stamp room fairy will come and I’ll find the die so I can create the card I have dreamed up in my head.

Masculine Birthday Card

masculinebdaycopy

Before we get to my cards, I just wanted to let you know that if you hoover over the pictures, you can now pin them if you wish!

Have a masculine card for you today using JFF stamps. Masculine cards are hard to come up with sometimes but with  Watches and Pens, I created a card that is guy worthy.

Stamped the watches in different colors and used the corresponding cardstocks for layering. I didn’t add a sentiment to the outside which then makes the card for any occasion.

masculinebdaycopy

So last week I had to post over at the JFF blog but didn’t share my card here. I used stamps from the Spring 2013 release. How great to do nothing... is the sentiment I used. For my main image I used Hammock in Palms. Colored image with copics. Stamped the image again so I could color and cutout just the Palms. Attached them with glue dots to give it more of a 3-D look.

Tweet Tweet and more

TweetTweetajhcopy

I have a few cards to share with you using JFF images.

First card up uses a stamp from JFF’s Spring 2013 release, Funky Toucans. Decided to go back to old school and used Prismacolor Pencils to color them. Blended with odorless mineral spirits. Used white gel pen to make the eyes pop and also for faux stitching on the black cardstock. Used sentiment from Sentiments 3 and used a punch for layering it.

TweetTweetajhcopy

Next up we have a Masculine card using Watches and Pens. Did some masking and different colors of ink.

On the inside I used Sentiments 1.

Happy Birthday to you

floralbirthdaycopy

A quick but clean and simple card today using JFF images. Stamped the flowers 3 times, colored them with copics, added some white gel pen and then cut them out completely. Attached the outer two to the card using dimensions while the middle flower is taped down directly to the card. Stamped the sentiment in the bottom corner and added some twine.

floralbirthdaycopy

Love how the white gel pen just makes the flowers pop. This is going to be one of my favorite go-to-birthday cards, I think.

Make sure you check back later on today as I have an awesome project I can’t wait to share with you and shocker, it is NOT stamp related!! But I can guarantee you will love it.

Thanks

embossedthanksajhcopy

Today I went back to old school, Dry embossing a stamped image. I used G1812 Floral Oval II from JFF.  Colored it with watercolor pencils before embossing the flowers on the wrong side. (the leaves are not dry embossed) Added some Ultra Fine Black Flower Soft to the middle of the flowers. Sentiment is from UMS7018 Sentiments 1. Also went with another clean and simple layout.

Tried to get a close up so you could see the dimension of the flowers.

Hope you have a nice and sunny day! (Rain here! ugh)

Live, Love, Laugh

LiveLoveLaughcopy

Don’t forget to check out the Craft-Dee BowZ blog hop which is one post down. And now on to today’s blog post:

Colored JFF’s Wildflowers with markers and then huffed on it before stamping. Stamped Live, Love, Laugh from Sentiments 1 in black. For the background I layered two pieces of cardstock together and cuttlebug’d  them. Using the Craft-Dee BowZ, I made my bow and added some dew drops.

LiveLoveLaughcopy

Don’t you love when a card turns out way better than you envisioned it? That is how I feel about this card.

Do you like my bow? Would you like a chance to win a Craft-Dee BowZ maker? Well then check out the blog hop going on in the post below!

Butterfly Kisses

Butterflykissescopy

Pretty soon the butterflies will be out! I can’t wait as I have a butterfly bush and they just love “eating” from it. I just know I’m going to get some amazing pictures this year. But until then, I will just have to make cards with butterflies on them!

I used G1890 Swallowtail from JFF stamped in purple distress ink. Stamped it twice so I could layer it with pop dots to make it look more dimensional. Just barely colored it with B000 copic to give it just a little bit of shade. Hard to see in picture but I added some crystal stickles to the wings. Used sentiment  from UMS7020 Sentiments 3. Also used a Spellbinder Bossabilities folder for my background.

Butterflykissescopy

And speaking of butterflies and butterfly bushes… that means flowers and I have a few flowers blooming already!

Aren’t they pretty? Yes, I need to clean out the leaves but that will be when it is a lot warmer out side!

Easter Blessings

EasterBlessingscopy

Can’t believe Spring is just right around the corner! With Spring comes Daylight Savings Time, the budding of trees/flowers, return of birds, my oldest birthday (she will be 17!) and of course Easter! So what better time to start showing cards using Spring Just For Fun Rubber Stamps?

Today I have a clean and simple Easter card to share. It didn’t turn out how I had started it in my head but like the simplicity of it that allows the image and sentiment to stand out and speak for itself.

I used  G3582 Easter Cross and sentiment B3594 Easter Blessings. Colored the cross using prismacolor pencils and blending with odorless mineral spirits. I then cut it out completely. Stamped it a second time to just color the lilies and cut them out completely. Attached them to the cross with glue dots and attached the entire image to the cardstock with glue dots. Stamped the sentiment down at the bottom and layered it onto purple cardstock.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know I was just talking about Spring but I also wanted to share the Just For Fun Rubber Stamps card I made for their blog. So let’s take a trip back to winter just for a second.
I used G3584 Tree with berries. Now we had a sketch we were suppose to use and also do some embossing if we could. I’m telling you the sketch really threw me for a loop but I put my head to the grindstone and got ‘er done.
I went with a scene for my card, masking and sponging on inks to make a sky and snow drifts. Then I stamped my image, pulled out the red embossing marker and some clear embossing powder and made the berries red. A little vellum over the tree to finish up the sketch and WOW! I really like how this card turned out!
Warm Thoughts
Warmthoughtscopy
Have a few cards to share today with you using Just For Fun Rubber Stamps.
I used F3071 Winter Landscape along with a sentiment from UMS7020 Sentiments 3 for my card. I kept my card clean and simple by stamping in black, 2 layers and sentiment right on the white background. Love the clean look.
I never posted the card I made for the Just For Fun Rubber Stamp Blog. Has to be one of my favorites so far. I did an acetate window that I put some branch cutouts behind. Used F3417 Large Cardinal and Sentiments 3.
Thinking of you
thinkingofyoucopy
Don’t miss the first ever
Craft-Dee BowZ blog hop. You can find my post below or by clicking here. You don’t want to miss this as there is a prize up for grabs.
I’m a little late with my Just For Fun Rubber Stamps card this week. But I think it will be worth the wait.
I used G3584 Tree with berries for my card. Stamped it in black and did a faux layering with a black marker. Added some red stickles on the berries to give it some sparkle. Stamped sentiment from UMS7018 Sentiments 1 underneath the image that is on pop dots. Used decorative scissors (bet those things thought I had forgotten about them since I rarely use them) to cut under the sentiment and added a pop of design paper.
