Friends are treasures

kylacardajhcopy

Today’s card came together thanks to some of the challenges over at SCS this week. The color challenge375 (navy, pumpkin pie & baby blue), the sketch385 and the ways to use it challenge375 (Colorful Complements)!

My color complements are mainly blue and orange with a tad bit of red as seen by the flowers.

kylacardajhcopy

I used the stamp set, Treasured Friends, by Our Craft Lounge and masked the girls into the beach scene. Stippled on a sunset and the ocean and used mudd puddles Cabana sand for the beach. Added some mudd puddles shells on the twine from May Arts. And found the perfect paper from DCWV Tahiti Beach stack!

New stamps and another sneak at my room

hellofriendajhcopy

Time for another Paper Pretties blog challenge! But first Paper Pretties is releasing two brand new sets today, both of which are sentiment sets.  We have Cursive Greetings 1 and Cursive Greetings 2.

With the release of these two stamp sets it seems fitting that this week's challenge is to Use a Sentiment as the focal point on your card.

hellofriendajhcopy

Layout is from today’s Sketch challenge 367 over at SCS

How to Enter: If you would like to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project using the above challenge and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword PWC188.

Don’t forget to include a link to your card on the Paper Pretties Blog, so everyone can see it too. You don’t have to use Paper Pretties stamps to play, but of course if you have them we would love to see you use them. One random participant will receive a Paper Pretties Stamps set … see the Paper Pretties Blog for more details.

I have another sneak at my room. One of my favorite drawers! Just look at all that “candy”!

stamproom

Hopefully soon I will be able to show you what the entire area looks like. Trying to find one more thing first and if we can’t find it then we are going to have to rig it up ourselves. Only problem I have is that I’m so organized I don’t know where anything is at!!

Birthday Fishes

redfishajhcopy

So this week over at the Paper Pretties blog, the challenge is a color challenge. No problem you say? Well the colors are….. white plus ONE other color! Just ONE other color! Yeah, I had a moment of freaking out before I took a deep breath and dove in.

I used Fish Wishes by Paper Pretties and picked red as my one color. I picked red as I wanted to use the Red Sea Glass by Mudd Puddles. Found some red design paper and went to work. Layout is this week’s sketch363 over at SCS.

Hope to see your white + one color card over at the Paper Pretties blog!

Thank you

thankyouajhcopy

So this week over at Paper Pretties, the challenge is to make a Thank You card. I used Bookworm Polly from the new release and used last week’s SCS sketch.

Colored with copics and added stickles to the book as my paper is glittery too. I meant to add some ribbon/bow but stuck down all my cardstock when I remembered! Not wanting to mess it all up, I didn’t even try to undo the card. lol so just imagine there is ribbon on it.

Warm Winter Wishes

WarmWinterwishesajhcopy

I had a few small minutes that I was able to whip up a card for the TLC352 which was to which to Make it snow and it also worked for this week’s CAS145 which was Christmas/winter too! Layout is an old SC239.

I used Winter Wishes from Our Craft Lounge. One of my favorite new winter scenes from them. Think it’s one of my favorite cause I love snow. Oh, can’t wait  for that white fluffy stuff to start falling from the sky!!

I love the image so much that I don’t like to add much to it but some Sugar Sparkly Fluff and a little bit of blue copic. Used blue and silver papers along with metallic silver ink for the sentiment and a ribbon.

Paper piecing with Paper and Such

coldnoseajhcopy

So this week’s challenge over at Paper and Such is one of my favs…. paper piecing!

I used this week’s SCS sketch358 for my layout. Did some distressing and some embossing. Paper pieced the snow angel’s hat and scarf and added some Sparkly Fluff to his hat too. Added just a little bit of color to the image itself as I wanted the card to have a country feel.

Smile, Life is Sweet

AmberSmilebubblegumcopy

Welcome to day 1 of Paper Pretties release! I’m here today with a sneak peek of a fun set that will be released next week.

I’m showing you Life is Sweet. It has 9 sentiments along with a fun image and a few small ones. I used copics to color my image, sticking to only 2 colors on my… gumballs!

Stamped an extra gumball that I cut out and added a fun little “smile” face to it. Using a dimension, I added it so it looked as if it had just come out of the gum machine. Stamped one of the sentiments on the side. Distressed all the layers with distressing tool and added some brads. Layout is from this week’s SCS sketch challenge 357.

OCL84 challenge–Design Paper

kittyajh

So this week’s challenge over at The Lounge is to use Pattern Paper.

OCL84-blog-pic

I haven’t played along in a while so I made two cards as I love to use design paper.

I used the newly released Winter Wishes by Our Craft Lounge. I went with a blue theme as last week’s F4A82 was to use mostly blue. I added stickles and twinkling H2O to the border (picture doesn’t show it too well). I used two different design papers for my backgrounds. This is also last week’s sketch over at SCS.

bluewhitechristmasajh

For my second card, I went with a Halloween card using the newly released Scaredy Cat also by Our Craft Lounge. I did the “no line stamping” again, stamped in blush blossom and colored with copics. The purple diamond design paper is layered onto black sparkle paper as is the kitty. This is for last week’s CAS135 challenge which was a sketch.

Smile!

smileajhcopy

Smile! It’s release day at Paper Pretties! Which means it’s a blog hop and a challenge all rolled into one.   So hopefully you just came from the Paper Pretties blog as I’m the first stop on the hop. The challenge this week over at Paper Pretties is EARTH TONE colors.

Yes, I wrote that in caps cause I’m yelling at myself! I knew what the challenge was.. I even have it written down in my notebook that I keep for all my work…but I wanted my hippo to be blue so  I colored it blue and went on breaking the “rules” for the challenge as I went PASTEL instead!! ugh!!  So not to break the blog hop, here is my “earth tone” color card (Hey! it has brown and green on it!! lol)

smileajhcopy

I know what you are thinking.. “why didn’t you just make another card that actually fit the challenge?” Well I’ve been battling a sinus headache for the past few days and when I do feel well enough to do anything, I’m running around like crazy trying to get house cleaned and cards are the last things to get made. So yes, I just made this before the hop went live so really I didn’t have time to even redirect my poor sick brain and I was almost done with my card when I realized it!  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Your next stop is Dawn Knight  on this blog hop. Enjoy!

Ps. Quick shout out to Little Red Wagon Challenge blog as I was featured there with my You’re Fintastic card! What an honor. Thank you!

Paper Pretties Sneak Peek

Ambersbdawishescopy

Have you been checking out the sneak peeks over at the Paper Pretties Blog? Well today I finally get to share one with you.

Fairy Wishes! It’s so cute and fun. I paper pieced the dress and had to color the poodle (at least I think it’s a poodle.. I sure hope it’s a poodle! lol) pink as my daughter wants to get a poodle and dye it pink!  Added stickles to the wings and wand.

Count your blessings

ambermumajhcopy

Welcome to day 2 of Paper and Such sneak peek. Today’s set is called “Fall Flowers” and comes with sentiments that I love how they are designed.

I used copics to color the mum and Amber Autumn design paper. Cut out the images with Spellbinders Nesties and before removing the die, I sponged with orange and yellow distress inks.  Some orange bling finished off the card.

So this week over at Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenges, we were to make a card using our favorite color combo. Now I have quite a few but I love pink/brown together so I made the following card.

Used copics to color the image, white gel pen on the umbrella and on the crest of the waves. Prima flowers layered and a sentiment from Birds & Roses also by Sweet ‘n Sassy. Sketch is from an old sketch (challenge 130) over at SCS.

Beach Days

dayatbeachajh

I had to do the sketch challenge real fast today. Luckily I had an image colored from over the weekend that I never made into a card so I used it today. I even used some twine so that my card would also work for The Lounge supply challenge of using twine.

I used Beach Days by Our Craft Lounge. All the images are cut out and attached with dimensions. Copics were used to color images and crystal effects was added to the beach ball and animal tube. Added some twine to the cut for it’s tail. Mudd Puddles sand was used for the beach.

Quack, Quack…

QuackQuackajhcopy

I have some exciting news! I won Challenge No. 3 over at Amber’s Crafts and Stuff for my You are Tea-rriffic card! I never win so I’m honored that Amber and Natasha both picked my card. Thank you, guys!

~~~~~~~~
I just loved the SC327 that Rox gave us this week. I pulled out The Pond by Our Craft Lounge to use for it.
Masked the little duck to place the cat tails behind her. Colored it all with copics and tried my hand at shading behind the image all because I like the way Korin does hers. I still need to perfect it as it doesn’t seem to be as good as hers. Could be cause I don’t have the same colors she used but I like the look.
I then colored the cat tails, added brown sugar sparkly fluff to them and attached them with Glue Dots. Sentiment was cut out with Spellbinder Oval and given a faux black layer with the black copic marker. Colored white brads with Y18.
QuackQuackajhcopy
Isn’t this too cute??!! I really love how it all came together as I wasn’t too sure when I pulled out the polka dot My Mind’s Eye paper but I’m trying to branch out on mix ‘n matching different designs.
This is also for the following challenges:
Creative Stamp Friends - Swirls
Whoopsi Daisy - Springtime
Creative Card Crew - April Showers (water)
Tuesday Throwdown - Spring
Some OCL cards
treasureupcloseajhcopy
A couple of cards to share with you. Both use stamp sets from Our Craft Lounge.
First the card I made yesterday for the SCS sketch challenge326. I used Pins & Needles for my card. Design paper is DCWV The Crafty stack. Sewed on all pieces even though my machine doesn't like to sew on paper. (I have an expensive machine that really I don’t like to use on paper and this is why! lol) Black rhinestones finish it off.
JustforYouajhcopy
This is also for the following challenges:
Sugar Creek Hollow - Stitching
Creative Belli - Think Seamstress
The Pixie Cottage – Stitching
Now on to the card I whipped up for today’s WT316 challenge of using Flowers. I used Whispy Blooms. Colored them with copics and cut them all out. Each flower has 3 “layers” attached with Helmar’s Liquid Scrap Dots for dimension. Some Lemon Drop yellow Crafty Fluff in the middle of the flowers.
treasureupcloseajhcopy
I then stamped Whispy Patterns in Versamark on the background and added a sentiment from the Whispy Blooms set. Martha Stewart border punch under the middle strip was used.
Layout is from Clean & Simple.
