Send in the Clowns

Time for another The Pixie Cottage challenge and sadly my last post as part of the Pixie Cottage DT as my term is up. This weeks theme is Go for Gold and or the sketch.  I went with the sketch.

I decided to do spotlighting as I haven’t done that for a long time. Used copics to color the area I spot lighted. Added bling to the edges.

Fall Fun

So today over at The Pixie Cottage the challenge is Fall Fun or the sketch. I stayed with fall fun and what says fall fun then an apple pie??

I colored the image with copics and used design paper from DCWV Amber Autumn. Cut image with Spellbinders and layered with different sizes and shapes of Spellbinders.

Blog makeover and forgotten card

Fall is one of my favorite times of year and I finally got around to changing my blog background for the season. Hope you enjoy my new look as I’m loving it!

Yesterday was the start of a new challenge over at The Pixie Cottage  and I completely forgot to post my card! oops! I’m bad! Anyways the challenge is always two fold with a theme or a sketch or you can do both. I stuck with the theme which is to Pop it Up.

I popped up the head, the image layer and the spellbinder layer. Used Smooches on the skirt & bows.

Pixie Cottage is have a Design team call that ends this Saturday. You can find all the details here.

And I have to share with you this picture I got yesterday of a Blue Heron that landed in our backyard and stayed around for at least 5 mins or so. We’ve seen them fly over as they visit the creek behind us. But we have never seen one so close. For taking the picture through a window and a screen, I thought it turned out pretty good. If you look closely, you can even see his eye!

Brad, Buttons, Bow

Time for another Pixie Cottage Digital challenge!! This week’s theme is Brad, Buttons, Bow or the sketch.  I went with the theme.

Used Feather the flamingo from Pixie Cottage and colored her with copcis. Added MuddPuddles Mickey’s Beach for Feather to stand in. The blue flower is a brad incase you are wondering where my brad is.

Back to School

So this week over at The Pixie Cottage the theme is back to school and/or the sketch.

I used the sketch with a digital image by Pixie Cottage that just calls out “recess”. Colored image with copics and cut it out completely and attached it with zap dots.

It’s starting to feel like Fall

This week’s challenge over at The Pixie Cottage is Big on Birthday theme and or the sketch.  I went with the sketch this time around.

Weather has become fallish like in the mornings and evenings and it’s put me in a fall mood. I’ve been trying to give my unused mediums some attention so I went with watercolor prisma pencils on my image, cut it out completely and popped it up with dimensions.

Flowers for Oliver

So this weeks challenge over at The Pixie Cottage Digital is once again a sketch or a theme of Flowers.

I went with the theme and used the image of Bonnie & Oliver from The Pixie Cottage. Colored with copics and distressed the edges. Added a cluster of prima flowers with brad centers.

Cat ‘n Dog

So this week over at The Pixie Cottage, the theme was embossing (dry or wet) and or the sketch. 

I stuck to embossing and embossed a layer using the cuttlebug. Colored my image with copics and cut it out of the box and popped up image. I made my card a long tall card.

Fun with Food

That is the theme for The Pixie Cottage challenge this week. Unless of course you wish to do the sketch (or combine both) which I did not this week. I just stuck to the theme.

I used Pupcake to create my card. Colored with prismacolor pencils that were blended with odorless mineral spirits. Used some Smooches on his collar, decorating tip and sprinkles on the cupcakes. The I U were colored with a copic as was the tray. I pulled out DCWV Sweet design paper to use and finished off the card with some purple bling.

Wrap it with Ribbons

This week's challenge over at The Pixie Cottage blog is “wrap it with Ribbons” or the sketch:



I went with the theme of ribbon. Colored image with copics and cut it out completely. Attached it with Helmar Liquid Scrap dots so it has lots of dimension. Stickles are on the cupcake sprinkles and candle. Bow Easy used for bow. This card was for my niece for her 6th birthday.

Wet? Wild? You decide.

Come join us over at The Pixie Cottage’s challenge this week . The theme is Wet/Wild and/or Sketch. I went with the wet/wild theme.

Colored my image with copics and made a sketch of the image a “pond” for the wet theme. My sketch came from CPS this week. Paper pierced  the corners of the layers and added brads.  Image is on dimensions.

Exciting news!!

I can finally announce that I made  The Pixie Cottage Design Team!
Each Wend they have a new sketch/theme challenge posted on their blog and everyone is invited to play along! So please check out their blog for all the info on joining in on these challenges.

Today’s theme is Strawberry/Cream and/or the sketch:   I went with the sketch and used The Pixie Cottage Digital Stamp Polkadotasaurus for my card.

I decided to use pink and silver as my colors. Dino’s spots were colored with Silver Smooches so she could have some sparkle. Added some pink bling in the corners and some glitterier sliver flowers to the corner. My bow takes the place of the big rectangle in the sketch.
