One of those days

Paper Pretties
challenge this week is New Technique. As my title suggest… it was one of those days. One of those days where I had no mojo, looked at my pinterest boards, searched pinterest and still nothing. What to do when the deadline is looming in site? Call a friend or in this day and age, Skype a friend. So that is what I did.

She in turn sent me to her blog (noooo, I don’t have time to browse through her blog as I love looking at her cards and could spend hours there, what was she thinking??) having me look at all the posts labeled, Technique. (See how smart she is?) She pointed out a few and I went with Modern Grid since I was low on time.

So I grabbed One of Those Days and started stamping. I used an old technique that I dearly love to color my image by using prismacolor pencils and blending with odorless mineral spirits. Used yellow and black cardstock to make the images pop more and added the sentiment with a single layer. It is on pop dots to make it stand out a little.

Here is her directions incase you can’t figure out my card:

  • Stamp your image or images randomly over your card
  • Now take a ruler and black marker and draw lines equally spaced vertically and horizontally. Make sure you stop your line when you get to the stamped image and then start again on the other side of the image.
  • Add dots or doodles to some of the squares. You can also color in some squares if you desire. You could also add smaller image stamps that suit the theme or words too.

So a big thanks to Frances Byrne for answering my Skype a Friend call and pointing me in the right direction.

  • How to Enter: If you would like to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project using the above challenge and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword PWC2402.

Don’t forget to include a link to your card on the Paper Pretties Blog, so everyone can see it too. You don’t have to use Paper Pretties stamps to play, but of course if you have them we would love to see you use them. One random participant will receive a Paper Pretties Stamps set … see the Paper Pretties Blog for more details.

            Thanks for stopping by!
