Teacher gift and link to Helmar Blog Candy

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas. I have enjoyed my ‘time’ off if you can call it that as I had been knitting hats/scarves for Christmas gifts instead of stamping. (and have more to make from those that have seen the gifts and want one now! lol) Here are the Christmas gifts my kids gave their teachers this year.

Remember a few posts ago I mentioned I had finished knitting something at the car dealership but couldn't reveal it? Well now I can. For Benjamin's teacher, Mrs..Jacobs, for Christmas I used the Knifty Kintter and made her a hat and scarf. We found out her favorite colors and this is what I made:

For Allie’s teachers, I made them name frames and tried to use their favorite colors.

I pulled out Stampendous set called School for Changito. It's perfect for any teacher related project and what my daughter picked out to use for her male teacher, Mr.Bair. Using an SU retired alphabet set, I stamped in red on to white cardstock. Used curved rectangle Nestablities to cut out the cardstock. JustRite Brayton Font was used to spell out MR. and Nestabilities Labels One was used to cut it out. Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner was used to attach all the letters and cardstock. I stamped the images right on the cardstock and colored them in with prismacolor pencils and copic markers. I then stamped Changito again, colored him and cut him out. Using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots, I attached him over his image to give him some 3-d look without having to worry about trying to cut out his tail.

For Mrs.Dill's name frame, I used the same alphabet set as above but stamped them in blue. I then distressed the edges a little with Tim Holtz vintage distress ink. Used the same Nestablities to cut them out and also the same JustRite Brayton Font for the MRS. I stamped Brocade Motifs on the background cardstock to give it some flair. Added ribbon across the middle before attaching the letters with Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner. Using Helmar Gemstone Glue, I attached brown and white/cream buttons to the letters. I then used SU's Bird w/Leaves Sizzix die cut for two blue birds and some leaves. I attached them using Helmar's newest product, Helmar Zapdots as I wanted some dimension but couldn't have a lot as there would still be glass to put in.

Now you are probably wondering why Mrs.Jacobs didn’t get a name frame for Christmas? It’s because her birthday was at the end of Nov. and I had made it for her then. Here is how her’s turned out:

I used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots on the little kids.
